We rent executive cars to licensed London private hire drivers. Eight cars, one weekly price with the running costs already in it, and a dashboard that shows you exactly what you have been charged for.
Blackties is a rental company. We buy executive saloons, licence and insure them for private hire, keep them serviced, and rent them by the week to drivers who hold a TfL private hire driver licence. We are not a broker, we do not sell cars, and we do not run a rent-to-buy product.
The fleet is small on purpose. Eight cars, all black executive saloons: the BMW 7 Series, i7, i5 and 530e, and the Mercedes-Benz S580Le, EQS, E-Class and EQE. Every one of them is specified for chauffeur-grade work rather than for the cheapest possible weekly figure.
The work a car can accept is what sets what a driver can earn. A car that only clears one platform is exposed to that platform's next rule change, and 2026 has been a year of rule changes. An executive saloon can take the premium tiers on the apps, and it can take chauffeur and corporate work as well, which is a different market with different rates.

Comprehensive hire and reward insurance, scheduled servicing, maintenance, MOT and 24/7 RAC cover are all included in the weekly rental. One number, paid weekly.
The things that are not included are the things you control: fuel or charging, penalty charges and fines you incur, and mileage beyond the allowance printed on your agreement. The excess mileage rate, the mileage allowance, the fuel level at handover and the deposit are all written on your contract before you sign it. Every driver gets a private dashboard covering invoices and payments, a copy of the signed agreement, recorded mileage, and MOT and service dates. Paperwork lives there rather than in a WhatsApp thread, so if we have charged you for something you can see exactly what it was.
We write a lot about licensing and platform rules, and we hold ourselves to a rule when we do it: every figure is checked against the organisation that sets it, and where TfL or Uber does not publish a number, we say so rather than repeat one invented elsewhere. When a rule changes we date the correction rather than quietly editing the page.
We also tell drivers when something is free. TfL publishes everything you need for the licensing assessments at no cost, and we link to it rather than sending anyone to a paid prep site. The driver FAQs and the topographical guide both work that way.
